Climate

Without any doubt we dare to claim that this part of Portugal has the best climate of all Europe. The area around Vila de Nova Milfontes is blessed with a microclimate; mild winters and pleasantly warm summers. More inland it can be extremely cold during wintertime and extremely hot in the summer. Everybody knows that the Algarve has an ideal climate to spend the winter, but the climate in the Alentejo is just as perfect. Of course every now and then it can rain heavily, but those showers never persist and are always looked forward to in periods of droughts. People live outside, where lot's of sunshine is guaranteed for at least 9 months a year.
